Workplan
The EEF and its goals have been presented to the eIRG policy group which considers EEF to be a relevant and useful initiative. eIRG will build upon the work of EEF for its interactions with ESFRI. The EEF has met several times and outlined a basic work-plan for how it will achieve its objectives:
-
Gathering requirements: EEF is using a questionnaire and focussed meetings to gather e-infrastructure requirements from the ESFRI projects. The results of this survey will be summarised in a report which will provide input to future roadmaps;
-
Identifying areas where the EEF member infrastructures can work in common. Candidate areas include access to resources (e.g. harmonising policies for Authentication, Authorization, Accounting and Auditing), user support (e.g. performance analysis and problem handling procedures) and training, security incident handling (e.g. cooperating security incident response group) and data management (e.g. seamless authorised access to data across the infrastructures for users).
-
Combined promotion and outreach with the establishment of an EEF website providing information about EEF infrastructures and access to common services as well as joint-presence at major ICT events (such as SC10 and ISC2010).
